VTL Director
Dr. Mehdi Setareh is the founder and director of the VTL. He is a professor and member of the faculty of the school of Architecture and Design at Virginia Tech. He has thirty years of research experience on vibration serviceability of various structures, in addition to the analysis and design of industrial and commercial buildings. His research activities have been sponsored by various federal and state agencies, professional organizations, and private industries. Dr. Setareh has publications in various technical journals and conference proceedings. He is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Virginia and Michigan and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Institute of Steel Construction, Society of Experimental Mechanics, and American Society of Engineering Education. He received his PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1990.
